Improving education on unit testing leads to a quick win in bridging part of the gap between the software industry and the skill set of graduates. Not only does unit testing improve the functional quality of software, it often leads to better quality code and a better understanding of the problem a programmer tries to solve.
Goal of my research is to improve introductory programming courses in such a way that more students become ‘test infected’, in other words, they become motivated in such a way that they are not satisfied with an assignment or project before they have a complete and running test suite.
